In the stillness before the bell, two men face one another beneath a hanging light. The air is thick with incense and sweat, the scent of worn wood and human will. One stands lean and burning, a flame refusing to waver; the other circles like a wounded beast, pride and desperation intertwined. When the bell tolls, the ring becomes a temple.
